September 11, 2024The Forward/Reverse Plate Compactor is excellent for floor fillings foundations, road repairs as well as backfill in pipe trenches. It has a hydraulic reversible plate. The hydraulic system adjusts travel control lever for smooth changing of direction. Speed is adjusted through hydraulic control of the eccentric element. This gives the plate compactor smooth motion and makes it easy to operate. It is also used for compaction work close to piles and concrete bases.

Operating Instructions
- Thickness of layer to be compacted should be approx. 600mm but no less than 200mm.
- Make sure material is slightly moist, avoid over compaction.
- Do not operate plate compactors or any gasoline-powered machines inside a building or other enclosed environment that is not fully vented.
- Always keep hands and clothing away from the plate’s moving parts.
- Never refuel a plate compactor unless the engine is stopped and cool. Re-fuelling a hot engine can result in burns or explosions.
- Make certain the work area is clear of debris to prevent tripping or falling onto the machine.
- When operating on a relatively level grade, a plate compactor will move under its own power with the operator simply directing its travel path. When compacting on a grade that is not level, the operator might have to take steps to ensure his or her safety.
- During uphill compaction, do not exceed a 20-degree angle.
- Plate compactors also tend to slide sideways when operating on a sloping terrain. To prevent the plate from sliding, steer the plate toward the rise of the slope to angle the machine.
- Avoid operating a plate compactor on a fully compacted, hard or non-yielding surface. Running a compactor on these surfaces will inflict costly damage to the unit and could redirect the plate's vibratory forces away from the surface to the operator, causing injury.
